Palestinians interested in peace are allowed freedom of speech by the Palestine Authority? - REALLY?

If you’re thinking that Palestinians interested in peace are allowed freedom of speech by the Palestine Authority, this Blog is for you.

One of the reasons for not speaking out against Palestinian terror while in the domain of the Palestinian Authority is the threat of being murdered. Duh !

During the Palestinian war in the early 1990s, more Palestinians were killed by their fellow Palestinians then died in clashes with Israeli security forces. During that time, if you spoke out against terror you were labeled as a collaborator and, if you were lucky, you were arrested by the Palestinian Authority. If you were unlucky, your fate was often a grisly murder such as being strung up from a lamppost in the public square. This would send the message to others who dared to cross those who sought Israel’s destruction.

No one knows the exact number of Palestinians killed for speaking out against terror. However, Amnesty International has reported that the Palestinian Authority has consistently failed to investigate these killings and none of the perpetrators was brought to justice. We do know the following statistics based on the Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR), a Palestinian organization that monitors slayings of Palestinians by Palestinians: 43 murders in 2002, 56 in 2003, 93 and 2004, and over 150 in 2005.

Between January 2006 and June 2007, Palestinians killed an estimated 616 Palestinians during their Civil War according to the ICHR. From January 2008 to March 2011 the ICHR reported at least 570 more Palestinians were killed as a result of murder, tribal fighting, gang violence, and so forth. Again, these numbers reflect more casualties than have occurred in clashes with Israeli troops.

I have a question for the Palestinian people. In the mid-to late 1700s, the pioneers of America, most of which were everyday people such as farmers, fishermen, and the like, stood up against the tyranny of the most powerful empire in the world at that time. Sure! - - There was a high cost to pay for the freedom we enjoy in America today. My question to you, Palestinians, how long will you put up with tyranny against your families before you fix the problem once and for all?
