Israel has restricted the political rights of Palestinian Arabs in Jerusalem - REALLY?

If you think Israel has restricted the political rights of Palestinian Arabs in Jerusalem, this Blog is for you.

It is a fact that Palestinian Arabs in Jerusalem have unprecedented political rights, as well as religious rights. While Arab residents are given a choice to become Israeli citizens, most choose to retain their Arab citizenship. But again, it’s their choice. Moreover, regardless of whether they are citizens, Jerusalem Arabs are permitted to vote in municipal elections as well as play a role in the administration of the city.

Despite these unprecedented political rights in Jerusalem, Saudi King Fahd stated, “I’ll urge the Muslims to launch Jihad and the use all their capabilities to restore Muslim Palestine and the holy al-Aqsa mosque from the Zionist usurpers and aggressors. The Muslims must be united in the confrontation of the Jews and those who support them.”

Can anyone explain to me why Arab leadership, operating within a self-proclaimed “peaceful” Muslim religion, would say such a thing?
